NOTICE TO ALL CLUB PARENTS
September 02, 2014
Information Sheet
SMSW has notified all Clubs that in the interest of child protection, all swimming clubs need to comply regarding Working With Children Checks (WWCC).
Swimming NSW requires that all Clubs and Officials comply with this Legislation by 15 January 2015.
As we require all parents to volenteer &/or timekeep during the year, all parents are required to provide a WWCC to our club.
NSW Department of Education and Communities outlines “How to apply for a Working with Children Check Clearance” (Appendix 4) on www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au, with links to the application form.
In brief:
Volunteer applies on line at http://www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au/ & receives an application number (volunteers are FREE)
Take this information to any NSW Motor Registry with current proof of ID.
NSW Department sends the applying volunteer, a WWCC clearance letter with a number.
The volunteer presents clearance letter to mount.annan.swimming@gmail.com
Our club will verify the WWCC clearance & keep a register within our club
Volunteers who assist at Area and SNSW events, will also present the clearance letter to the Area WWCC Officer (currently Area Secretary), as well as, Swimming NSW officers.
REMEMBER: VOLUNTEERS MUST REGISTER WITH CLUB, AREA and SWIMMING NSW INDIVIDUALLY. CLUBS WILL NOT PASS INFORMATION TO AREA NOR SNSW.
