Congratulations to Katya K who has just won the Wests Sports Council's "Junior Sportsperson" award for July. Your prize will be coming to you shortly.
SUMMARY OF CURRENT ACHIEVEMENTS
Katya Kamenjas has been a part of the Mount Annan Swim Club for the past three years. On Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th June Katya competed at the Metro South West Championships. At this carnival Katya had her best M...etro South West Championships to date. Her phenomenal effort at these championships, allowed her to qualify for the Metropolitan Championships which took place on Saturday 11th July and Sunday 12th July. Katya swam personal best times in the 100 metres Breaststroke and 100 metres Butterfly placing her 11th in the Sydney Metropolitan Area.
Due to Katya’s efforts over the past six weeks, she has now qualified for the State Age Championships on the 28-30th August. Katya has qualified for the 100 Metres Butterfly, Backstroke, Breastroke and Freestyle. She has also qualified for the 50 Metres Freestyle. This will be the third State Carnival that Katya has qualified for.
Katya has also been selected into the Metro South West selective area “C” Squad. This particular squad is the highest level of squad that Metro South West offers a swimmer at eleven years of age.
Katya is dedicated to her chosen sport of swimming, and participates in six training sessions a week. She gives her all to her training and has recently begun training with the Intermediate State Squad.
Katya is a popular member of our club and we are so excited for her to win this award. GO MT ANNAN
