Mount Annan Swimming Club swimmers gained invaluable experience for the upcoming season at the NSW State Age SC Championships at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre recently.
The club sent 17 swimmers and they achieved 32 personal best times.
The swimmers achieved 11 top 10 placings and among them, Vanya Kamenjas placed first in both the boys under 13 100m butterfly and 50m freestyle and placed second in the 100m backstroke.
‘‘We had really hoped that the swimmers would go into this meet, as a teamand that’s exactly what they did,’’ Mount Annan Swimming Club head coach Tatiana Matts said.
‘‘I have never seen a group of swimmers come together as a team, quite the way that Mount Annan did on the weekend.’’
Matts said the coaching team were excited about the results that they believed were beyond what they could imagine.
‘‘Each and every one of our athletes works hard every session, and these results are a true indication of their hard work, dedication and training,’’ she said.
Matts said she hoped the swimmers would continue to build long lasting friendships and enjoy the sport at the club.
‘‘The families, swimmers and coaches of the Mount Annan Swimming Club are a vital part of the friendly, and good natured club culture that we have worked so tirelessly to achieve,’’ she said.
‘‘This carnival is the peak of the season for many of our swimmers, and so by finishing with such fantastic results, it gives the swimmers an invaluable drive and motivation leading into the new season.’’
